Issued by the Department of Labour, the notification invokes the powers under the proviso to Section 54 of the Factories Act, 1948, and aligns with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) directives focused on Ease of Doing Business and Ease of Living.

New Daily Limit:
Adult workers shall not be required or allowed to work more than 10 hours per day in any factory.

This change comes into immediate effect (May 20, 2025) and will remain applicable until further orders.
