AP Issues New Minimum Wages, VDA for Contract Workers

The Government of Andhra Pradesh has officially notified revised minimum wages and Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) rates for contract workers across the state. These revisions come into effect starting April 1, 2025, and will remain applicable until September 30, 2025.

As per the proceedings dated April 7, 2025, and published in the Andhra Pradesh Gazette (No. 21) on April 10, 2025, the average State Industrial Workers Consumer Price Index (CPI) number for the half-year ending December 2024 has been declared as 1886 CPI points. This updated CPI figure forms the basis for calculating the revised VDA.

All employers have been urged to ensure compliance with the revised wage structure, including payment of the updated VDA, for all contract workers under their jurisdiction.

A detailed statement outlining the new basic wage and VDA payable from April 1 to September 30, 2025, has been appended to the official notification.
