The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), has issued a new amendment to the Indian Standard IS 11928:2023, titled “Textiles — Roundslings Made of Man-Made Fibres for General Service — Specification (First Revision).“
The amendment, numbered Amendment No. 1, was officially established on 09 June 2025. A transitional period has been allowed until 08 December 2025, after which the previous version of the standard will cease to be valid.
This update is in line with BIS’s commitment to ensuring safety, performance, and consistency across critical textile products used in industrial and general applications. The amendment addresses specifications for roundslings manufactured from synthetic (man-made) fibres intended for general service, reinforcing durability, strength, and quality control standards.
