CDSCO Directs State Authorities to Compile List of Approved Veterinary Drugs

The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO), Veterinary Division, has issued a directive to all State and Union Territory Drugs Controllers, requesting a comprehensive list of manufacturing permissions granted for veterinary drug products. This includes antibiotics, Fixed-Dose Combinations (FDCs), and their premixes intended for veterinary use.

The request is a follow-up to a previous letter dated August 6, 2015. The primary objective is to compile a detailed national list that is essential for various regulatory agencies, both within India and internationally. This includes adherence to EU regulations and requirements set by the World Organization of Animal Health (WOAH).

State Licensing Authorities (SLAs) and Food and Drug Administrations (FDAs) are specifically asked to provide this list of approved veterinary drugs, including antibiotics, FDCs, and their premixes, in a prescribed format.

The compiled information aids in establishing an overview of veterinary drug manufacturing permissions across the country, serving national regulatory needs and international reporting requirements.
