CDSCO Introduces Auto-Generated Market Standing and Non-Conviction Certificates for Medical Devices

The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) has announced an upgrade to its online system for medical devices, introducing an automated process for generating Market Standing Certificates (MSC) and Non-Conviction Certificates (NCC). This notice was issued on April 9, 2025.

CDSCO seeks to streamline regulatory procedures and enhance ease of doing business for licensed medical device manufacturers. Effective from the date of this notice, the online application workflow for MSC and NCC, granted by the Central Licensing Authority, will now feature an auto-generation system. This upgrade simplifies the process, reducing processing time and administrative burden.

To facilitate the transition to the new automated system, the CDSCO has announced that all MSC and NCC applications currently in the old workflow will be automatically rejected by the system.

The CDSCO has issued a request to all concerned stakeholders to re-submit fresh MSC and NCC applications through the upgraded online system. This ensures that all applications are processed under the new automated workflow.

Benefits of the Automation:

  1. The automated system simplifies the application process, reducing bureaucratic hurdles and promoting a more efficient regulatory environment.
  2. Auto-generation significantly reduces the time required to obtain MSC and NCC certificates.
  3. The new workflow streamlines the overall regulatory process, making it more accessible to stakeholders.
