The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) has issued drug alerts for specific batch of Dmex
Colecalciferol (Vitamin D3) Tablets B.P, declaring it as potentially spurious following investigations into its quality. This notification was issued on May 20, 2025.
Drug Alert for the Month of January–2025 (Revised)
A drug alert for the month of January 2025 (revised) flagged a batch of Dmex Colecalciferol (Vitamin D3) Tablets B.P, bearing batch number 4D077301, with a manufacture date of September 2023 and an expiry date of August 2026. The reason for failure was related to the “Assay of Cholecalciferol.”
Crucially, the purported manufacturer (as per the label claim) has informed authorities that this specific batch was not manufactured by them and is believed to be a spurious drug. The alert, issued by the Drugs Inspector, Ahmedabad Zone, notes that while the product is suspected to be spurious, this is subject to the outcome of ongoing investigations.
