The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) has issued an Office Memorandum directing all its Public Authorities to complete the process of proactive disclosure of information under Section 4 of the Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005, by May 14, 2024.
The memorandum emphasizes the mandate for all Public Authorities under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoH&FW), including all divisions of CDSCO (HQ), Zonal/Sub-Zonal Offices, Laboratories/Mini Labs/Port Offices, to proactively make a range of information accessible to the public. This “suo motu” disclosure is a key tenet of the RTI Act, promoting transparency and accountability.
Following the timelines established by the Central Information Commission (CIC), all concerned divisions and offices within CDSCO have been instructed to immediately upload the required information onto the CDSCO website. To facilitate this process, the memorandum directs that the documents to be uploaded should be sent to the IT Cell via email at donotreply@cdsco.nic.in, but only after obtaining the approval of the Competent Authority.
