The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has initiated the process to determine the levelized generic tariff for various categories of Renewable Energy (RE) generating stations for the second year of the control period, spanning from July 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026. This move is in accordance with Regulation 8 of the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (Terms and Conditions for Tariff determination from Renewable Energy Sources) Regulations, 2024, which were notified on June 12, 2024.
The generic tariff proposal covers the following types of renewable energy projects:
- Small Hydro Projects
- Biomass Power Projects with Rankine Cycle technology
- Non-fossil fuel-based co-generation Projects
- Biomass Gasifier based Power Projects
- Biogas based Power Projects
- Refuse Derived Fuel based Municipal Solid Waste Power Projects
