The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has released draft amendments to its Deviation Settlement Mechanism and Related Matters Regulations, 2024, and is inviting comments, suggestions, and objections from stakeholders and interested parties.
The draft regulations, titled “Draft Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (Deviation Settlement Mechanism and Related Matters) (Second Amendment) Regulations, 2025,” have been prepared by the Commission in exercise of its powers under the Electricity Act, 2003. These proposed amendments are now available for public review on the CERC’s official website.
Through this public notice, dated May 10, 2025, the CERC is soliciting feedback on the provisions of the draft amendments. Stakeholders can submit their comments, suggestions, or objections in writing to the Secretary, Central Electricity Regulatory Commission, World Trade Centre, 6th, 7th & 8th Floor, Tower-B, Nauroji Nagar, New Delhi – 110029. Alternatively, responses can be sent via email to secy@cercind.gov.in and cerc.readvisor@gmail.com.
The deadline for submitting feedback is June 10, 2025.
The CERC is also providing an online avenue for submitting feedback through its SAUDAMINI Portal. Interested parties can log in to the portal and click on the “e-Regulation” link on the e-filing Home Page to upload their comments and suggestions by the same deadline, June 10, 2025. The CERC has clearly stated that any comments, suggestions, or objections received after the stipulated date may not be considered during the finalization of these regulations.
