DCI Regulations on curbing the Menace of Ragging in Dental Colleges, 2009

The DCI has framed ‘DCI Regulations on curbing the Menace of Ragging in Dental Colleges, 2009’ in order to prohibit, prevent and eliminate the scourge of ragging in dental colleges I institutions. All the dental colleges must take following necessary steps for its implementation under intimation to the DCI:

  1. Zero Tolerance Policy: The DCI has implemented a strict zero-tolerance policy towards ragging.
  2. Reporting of Ragging Incident: Institutions are required to maintain a clear and accessible
reporting system. Any ragging incidents should be reported to the institution’s authorities
    immediately.
  3. Awareness Initiatives: Dental colleges should conduct awareness campaigns about the harmful
effects of ragging and to promote a culture of inclusivity and respect frequently.
  4. Support for Victims: Institutions should provide counseling and support services for victims of
ragging, ensuring their safety and well-being.

The Dental Council of India urge all stakeholders — dental colleges, students, faculty, and parents — to collaborate in creating a safe and respectful educational environment. Together, we can eliminate ragging and ensure a nurturing atmosphere for all students.
