The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has announced an extension to the deadline for filing annual returns for the financial year 2024-25 under the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022. The new deadline is June 30, 2025, extending the previous deadline of April 30, 2025.
All stakeholders involved in the management of e-waste shall take note of the revised timeline and ensure timely filing of their annual returns.
The Ministry has made this announcement on its E-waste EPR (Extended Producer Liability) Portal explicitly stated that failure to file returns within the stipulated timeframes will be considered as a non-compliance with the regulations.
This extension provides additional time for industries and other entities handling e-waste to compile and submit their annual reports. However, the emphasis on regular quarterly filings indicates the Ministry’s continued focus on consistent monitoring and compliance within the e-waste management sector.
