On October 1, 2024, the Labour Department of the Government of West Bengal announced significant reforms aimed at improving the ease of doing business in the state. The newly introduced Compliance Inspection Dashboard is designed to bring transparency to information dissemination and streamline the application process for various services under the Labour, Boiler, and Factories Acts.
Key Features of the Compliance Inspection Dashboard:
- Enhanced Transparency: The dashboard provides crucial information about the minimum time required for application approvals. This allows applicants to track their applications more effectively and understand when they can expect their system-generated certificates.
- Detailed Data Display: The modified online dashboard will showcase essential metrics, including:
- Time limits as prescribed under the West Bengal Right to Public Service (WBRTPS) Act.
- Number of applications received and approved.
- Average, median, minimum, and maximum times taken for approvals.
- Average fees paid by applicants for specific services.
- In-Depth Application Insights: Users will be able to drill down into detailed application data, including:
- Application number and date.
- Approval date.
- Total fees paid, along with a breakdown of those fees.
- Inspection Metrics: The Compliance Inspection Dashboard will also track inspection activities:
- Total number of inspections conducted.
- Average time taken for inspections.
- Number of enterprises exempted from inspections due to self-certification and third-party certification.
- Regular Updates: To ensure that the information remains current and reliable, the dashboard will be updated on a daily, weekly, fortnightly, or monthly basis, ideally in real-time. Each update will be timestamped to reflect the date and time of the information provided.
