The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has announced an extension for activating Universal Account Numbers (UAN) and linking bank accounts with Aadhaar under the Employees’ Linked Insurance (ELI) scheme. The new deadline is now June 30, 2025.
This extension aims to facilitate employers and employees in completing necessary procedures for availing benefits seamlessly. The EPFO’s decision follows multiple previous communications urging compliance by organizations covered under its jurisdiction.
PB Verma, Additional Central PF Commissioner (Compliance), issued the directive emphasizing a special drive involving targeted camps in areas with high pending cases. Regional heads have been instructed to ensure robust awareness campaigns to achieve complete compliance.
The circular further directs relevant officials and website administrators to update EPFO portals, ensuring all stakeholders are informed about the extended timeline. This measure is designed to prevent disruption of services and ensure that beneficiaries receive uninterrupted access to provident fund and insurance-related benefits.
Employers and employees are advised to utilize this additional window proactively, aligning with EPFO’s ongoing digital enhancement initiatives to streamline provident fund management across India.
