The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued a new notification amending its list of recognized food testing laboratories across various regions of the country. This update, published on June 9, 2025, modifies the previous notification dated December 6, 2016.
The amendments reflect changes in the network of laboratories approved for ensuring food safety and quality. Key changes include:
- Northern Region (Punjab): An existing laboratory entry at serial number 2 under Punjab has been deleted.
- Western Region (Gujarat): The entry for Lilaba Analytical Laboratories LLP (Registration No. 52/W/FSSAI/2018) in Surat has been updated at serial number 14. Its scope of accreditation includes both Biological and Chemical testing.
- Southern Region (Andhra Pradesh): A new laboratory, Eureka Analytical Services Private Limited (Registration No. 92/S/FSSAI/2025) in Guntur, has been added at serial number 9. This laboratory is accredited for Biological and Chemical testing.
- Eastern Region (West Bengal): Qualissure Laboratory Services (Registration No. 29/E/FSSAI/2025) in Kolkata has been newly added at serial number 14, with a scope of accreditation for Biological and Chemical testing.
These adjustments are part of FSSAI’s ongoing efforts to maintain and update its network of accredited laboratories, which play a crucial role in the enforcement of food safety standards and the protection of public health.
