The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has announced that the nationwide enforcement drive on spices (both whole and powder), originally scheduled for October 2025, has been postponed.
The drive, which was announced via a letter dated September 17, 2025, is now officially kept in abeyance until further orders are issued by the FSSAI office.
All concerned Commissioners of Food Safety of States/UTs and Regional Directors of FSSAI have been directed not to initiate any action related to the spice enforcement campaign until new instructions are provided.
