FSSAI Updates National Network of Referral Food Laboratories

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued a notification on May 29, 2025, updating the list of laboratories designated as “Referral Food Laboratories” across India. This amendment substitutes the previous lists (Table 1 and Table 2) from a 2017 notification.

These referral laboratories ensure food safety by providing advanced analytical testing, resolving food sample disputes, and supporting regulatory functions. The newly notified list comprises 22 facilities, enhancing the infrastructure for food testing and quality control nationwide.

The updated list of FSSAI Referral Food Laboratories includes
