Goa Declares Paid Holiday for Municipal Bye Election

The Government of Goa has announced that Sunday, March 9, 2025, will be a paid holiday for the Municipal Bye Election to Ward No. 11 of the Village Panchayat Sao Jose de Areal, in Salcete Taluka, South Goa District.

Date of Paid Holiday: Sunday, March 9, 2025 (Phalguna 18, Saka 1946)

Reason: The holiday is declared in accordance with Section 40A of the Goa Panchayat Raj Act, 1994, for the Bye Election being held in Ward No. 11 of the Village Panchayat.

Applicable to: All voters in the aforementioned Bye Election, including:

  1. Industrial workers in Goa.
  2. Daily wage workers of Government Departments and State Government Industrial Departments.
  3. Commercial and industrial workers of private establishments in Goa.
  4. Workers of all private establishments.
  5. Daily wage/casual workers employed in business, trade, industrial undertakings, or other establishments.
  6. Workers of institutions governed under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.

Conclusion:
