The Office of the Jute Commissioner, under the Ministry of Textiles, has finalized the maximum ex-factory price for 580gm jute bags. The prices are fixed for the month of August 2025 and are exclusive of GST.
The finalized maximum prices are as follows:

These “Type A” and “Type B” bags are specified to have a size of 94cm x 57cm and a mass of 580gm, in accordance with the BIS Specification IS: 16186:2014.
All bags must be printed or marked with an emblem specified by the Office of the Jute Commissioner and must include the name of the manufacturing mill and a BIS certification mark. The average minimum breaking strength of the bags must also meet the BIS specifications.
