The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, through the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), has immediately lifted the ban on the export of De-Oiled Rice Bran (DoRB). The export policy for DoRB, which had previously been prohibited, is now amended to “Free”.
The change is effective immediately from the date of the notification, October 3, 2025.
Amendment Details
The Central Government exercised its powers under the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, to amend the Export Policy for DoRB under Chapter 23 of the ITC (HS) 2022 Schedule-II (Export Policy).
The previous policy condition for all relevant ITC(HS) codes under headings 2302 (Bran, Sharps and Other Residues) and 2306 (Oil-Cake and other Solid Residues) was stipulated as ‘Prohibited’ till 30th September 2025.
The new policy formally amends the status from ‘Prohibited’ to ‘Free’ across these categories, signaling the government’s decision not to extend the export restriction beyond the initial cutoff date.
