The Government of Gujarat, following directions from the State Election Commission, has issued a notification granting special voting leave on Sunday, 22nd June 2025 for the Gram Panchayat elections to be held in selected areas across the state.
This order applies to shops and institutions governed by the Gujarat Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2019, and is intended to ensure all eligible employees have the opportunity to cast their vote.

- Kadi and Jotana Talukas (24-Kadi A.J. Assembly Constituency)
- Visavadar, Bhensan, Junagadh (Rural), and Bagasra Talukas (87-Visavadar Assembly Constituency)
📌 Key Guidelines for Employers:
Special Leave for Voting:
If the weekly off is not on Sunday, employees must be provided three hours of special leave in rotation or a day off on the polling day.
Applies to All Workers:
The leave provision extends to daily wage and casual workers.
No Deduction in Wages:
Wages must not be deducted for the time or day off given for voting.
Exceptions:
The provision does not apply to employees whose absence may cause danger or significant damage to operations.
The elections will take place from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM on June 22, 2025. Employers are instructed to comply with the guidelines to uphold democratic rights and avoid penalties.
