Haryana Invites Applications for Competent Person Role

The Government of Haryana, through its Labour Department, has issued a public notice inviting applications for the recognition of individuals and institutions as Competent Person(s) under Section 2(ca) of the Factories Act, 1948 and Rule 2-A of the Punjab Factory Rules, 1952.

This recognition is essential for conducting various safety-related inspections and certifications in factories, such as testing and examining:

  • Buildings

  • Hoists and lifts

  • Lifting machines and lifting tackles

  • Pressure plants

  • Dust extraction systems, among others

Who Can Apply?

Eligible individuals or institutions possessing the required qualifications and experience as outlined under the Act and Rules are encouraged to apply. This includes professionals in the engineering, safety, and technical inspection fields who meet the regulatory criteria.

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted in the prescribed format under Rule 2-A of the Punjab Factory Rules, 1952. The submission should include:

  • Complete application form

  • Self-attested copies of all required documents

  • Submission via Registered Post or in-person at:

Important Note for Existing Recognized Persons

Even those individuals or institutions already recognized as a Competent Person must submit a fresh application. This ensures up-to-date verification of qualifications and credentials.
