Born in Florence, Italy in 1820, Florence Nightingale was a British nurse whose work profoundly shaped the landscape of modern nursing. Beyond nursing, she was also a notable statistician and a driver of social reform, establishing the core principles that underpin the profession today.

The Indian Nursing Council will celebrate this momentous day on May 13 with an online event providing an opportunity for nurses, healthcare professionals, and the public to come together and acknowledge the dedication and impact of nurses.
