The Indian Nursing Council (INC) has issued a circular calling for widespread participation from all nursing institutions across the country in the celebration of the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY), scheduled for June 21, 2025. This initiative aligns with a nationwide campaign led by the Ministry of AYUSH, promoting the unifying theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”
The circular, referenced from a communication received from the Ministry of AYUSH dated June 5, 2025, emphasizes the importance of maximizing outreach and engagement for this global event. The INC is urging all universities running nursing programs, as well as principals of nursing schools and colleges, to ensure enthusiastic involvement from nursing students, trainee nursing officers, and nursing faculty.
To facilitate participation, nursing institutions are specifically requested to:
- Register their organization for IDY 2025 without fail. Registration can be completed using a QR code or directly via the Yoga Sangam portal.
- Share relevant promotional materials on their official social media platforms. A comprehensive set of creative content, including social media posts, banners, videos, logos, and infographics, has been curated by the Ministry of AYUSH and is accessible through a Google Drive link.
Furthermore, institutions are directed to submit an action-taken report directly to the Ministry of AYUSH, with an intimation provided to the Indian Nursing Council. This collaborative effort aims to make the 11th International Day of Yoga a truly people-centric and widely participative celebration, contributing to the broader message of Yoga for well-being.
