The Jute Commissioner has finalized the maximum ex-factory price for 580gm jute bags. This new pricing, issued under the Jute and Jute Textiles Control Order, 2016, is effective for the month of September 2025 and will remain in place until further orders. This notification was issued on September 15, 2025.
The new maximum prices are fixed for both ‘Type A’ and ‘Type B’ jute bags.

The notification specifies that these prices are exclusive of GST, which must be paid in addition to the ex-factory price by the purchaser. The bags must meet the technical specifications laid out in BIS Specification IS: 16186:2014, including a size of 94cm x 57cm and a mass of 580gm. Each bag is also required to be marked with a specific emblem and the name of the manufacturing mill, along with a BIS certification mark.
