The Government of Kerala has announced a One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme for clearing old electricity bill arrears under the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB). The scheme, notified on April 26, 2025, will run for a three-month period starting May 20, 2025.
⚡ Key Features of the OTS Scheme:
- Eligibility: Consumers with electricity bill arrears older than two years.
- Disconnected Connections: Will be restored upon full payment of dues.
- Interest Waiver/Reduction:
- Dues over 10 years old: Full waiver of 18% interest.
- Dues between 5–10 years: Interest reduced to 4%.
- Dues between 2–5 years: Interest reduced to 6%.
- Payment Options:
- Interest can be paid in six equal installments.
- 5% discount on principal for lump-sum payments.
- Coverage: Includes arrears under revenue recovery, legal proceedings, cable TV post-rental dues, etc.

- Low Tension Consumers: Apply at the respective section office.
- High Tension Consumers: Apply at the Office of the Special Officer (Revenue).
