MNRE Updates ALMM List-I for Solar PV Modules with Revised Efficiency Standards and Error Corrections

Under the ALMM Order, 2019, only models of Solar PV Module Manufacturers that comply with Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Standards and meet specified minimum module efficiency criteria are eligible for enlistment.

These standards vary based on the technology (crystalline Silicon – c-Si, and Cadmium Telluride – CdTe thin film) and the application category of the solar PV modules:

CategoryApplication/UseMinimum Module Efficiency (c-Si technology)Minimum Module Efficiency (CdTe thin film technology)
Category-IUtility/Grid Scale Power Plants20.00%19.00%
Category-IIRooftop and Solar Pumping19.50%18.50%
Category-IIIOff-grid projects/applications like solar lamps, solar lights, solar street lights, solar fans, etc. (other than solar powered agricultural pumps and solar PV rooftops) requiring individual capacity of each solar PV module deployed, to be of less than 200 Watt peak18.00%18.00%
Category-IVAny other application19.00%18.00%

Note: Category-III modules will be included in a separate ALMM list called ALMM List-I (DRE), not the main ALMM List-I.

The current revision also addresses and corrects typographical errors found in previous ALMM List-I revisions. Specifically, corrections have been made to the validity of model numbers for M/s. SASA Energy LLP and M/s Oswal Solar Structure Pvt. Ltd.
