MP Issues Amendments to the Disabled Persons Rights Rules

On 28th January 2025, the Government of Madhya Pradesh announced amendments to the Madhya Pradesh Disabled Persons Rights Rules, 2017. The primary amendment involves a change in the terminology used throughout the rules.

Specifically, the term “Commissioner, Disabled Persons” will now be replaced with “Commissioner, Persons with Disabilities” wherever it occurs in the rules.

This change reflects a shift towards more inclusive language, aligning with broader efforts to recognize and respect the rights of persons with disabilities in a more appropriate and dignified manner.
