The Government of Karnataka has officially notified the commencement of the Karnataka Motor Vehicles Taxation (Amendment) Act, 2025. As per the notification dated April 29, 2025, the amended provisions will come into effect starting May 1, 2025.
The notification is issued under sub-section (2) of section 1 of the Karnataka Motor Vehicles Taxation (Amendment) Act, 2025 (Karnataka Act No. 24 of 2025), giving legal effect to the revised rules on motor vehicle tax assessment.
Vehicle owners, transport operators, and stakeholders in the automobile and logistics sectors are advised to review the updated provisions to ensure adherence from the effective date.
