New NEFT/RTGS Process via Saralsanchar Portal

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has notified all stakeholders of a revised NEFT/RTGS payment process through the Saralsanchar Portal, effective from February 22, 2025. The change comes following the migration of Bharatkosh to RBI’s eKuber 2.0 system.

The Saralsanchar Portal is tightly integrated with Bharatkosh for payment-related services. With this backend transition, users must now follow a new procedure for making NEFT/RTGS payments.

💡 Key Changes in the Payment Process:

Unique CPIN for Each Transaction
Each deposit slip will now carry a unique Challan Payment Identification Number (CPIN) instead of the earlier PAO account number.

CPIN Used as Beneficiary
The payee must add the CPIN as a beneficiary in their banking portal or use it while visiting a bank branch for payment.

No Manual UTR Update Required
The UTR will be auto-reconciled by the system; users are no longer required to manually enter UTR details on Bharatkosh.

Automated Credit Confirmation
The RBI will provide credit notifications hourly and account statements confirming funds have reached the intended PAO accounts.

Refunds on Discrepancy
In case of any error in CPIN or payment amount, the funds will be automatically returned to the payee’s bank account by RBI.

Support for Users
For any issues or technical queries, users are advised to raise a ticket on the Saralsanchar Portal for prompt resolution.

This change streamlines the reconciliation process and enhances the efficiency and accuracy of government fund transactions.
