The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued an urgent reminder to all medical colleges recognized by the NMC to complete their Annual Declaration details for the Academic Year (AY) 2025-26 on the NMC Portal. This is mandated under the NMC Act, 2019, and relevant regulations issued by the Commission. This notice was issued by the NMC’s Under Graduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) on April 24, 2025.
Referring to its Public Notice dated November 1, 2024, and subsequent communications, the NMC highlighted that the assessment process for the annual renewal of recognized medical colleges is currently underway. However, it has been observed that some colleges have not yet provided the required information regarding cadavers under the ‘Clinical Load – Anatomy Department’ section.
The NMC has explicitly stated that information related to the number of cadavers handled by each medical college is mandatory for the annual renewal process.
Furthermore, the NMC has directed all medical colleges and institutes to also provide the following details in the Annual Declaration Form:
a. Number of Major Operation Theatres (OTs)
b. Number of Minor Operation Theatres (OTs)
Relevant fields for submitting this information have been created under the ‘Hospital Details’ section within the Annual Declaration Form on the NMC Portal.
To facilitate the submission of this data, the NMC has announced that the NMC Portal will remain open for limited period, from April 25, 2025, to April 28, 2025.
All concerned medical colleges and institutes are strongly urged to furnish all the aforementioned information within this stipulated timeframe to ensure the smooth processing of their annual renewals.
