Patiala’s New DC Rates: Full List of Minimum Wages for Workers

The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Patiala (Nazar Branch) has issued a comprehensive notification on the fixation of minimum wages under the directions of the Punjab Labour Department . The revised wages are applicable to various categories of skilled and unskilled laborers, as well as government and semi-government outsourced staff.

This initiative complies with the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 and will be enforced strictly. Legal action under Section 22-A of the Act may be taken in case of non-compliance.

⚖️ Important Legal Notes:

  • These wages are fixed for 8 hours of work per day.
  • Weekly rest is mandatory; otherwise, overtime must be paid.
  • Overtime and hourly rates are to be paid as per provisions of the Minimum Wages Act, 1984 and its rules.
  • Wages are subject to CPI-based revisions every 6 months (March & September).
  • Contingency or part-time workers must not be paid less than the notified minimum wages.
  • Legal action under Section 22-A of the Minimum Wages Act may be initiated for violations.

🏛️ Applicability:

  • This notification is binding on private contractors, brick kiln owners, agricultural employers, and all departments employing workers via outsourcing in Government or Semi-Government offices, Boards, Corporations, and Agencies under the Government of Punjab.

Employers are instructed to comply strictly with the above wage structure. Copies of this notification are to be displayed prominently in all workplaces as per labor law requirements.
