However, there are certain restrictions imposed by the Election Commission of India regarding the publication and dissemination of the results of opinion polls and exit polls. In accordance with the Representation of the People Act, 1951, it is prohibited to conduct or publish any exit poll from 7:00 a.m. on April 19, 2024, to 6:30 p.m. on June 1, 2024. Anyone found contravening these provisions may face imprisonment or fines.
Additionally, displaying any election-related content, including results of opinion polls or surveys, on electronic media is prohibited for 48 hours prior to the conclusion of the polls. These restrictions aim to ensure fair and unbiased elections by preventing the premature disclosure of poll results that could potentially influence voters.
