In a significant move to strengthen workplace safety for women, the Government of Rajasthan has issued a public notice mandating registration of all government departments, private institutions, public sector undertakings, and subordinate offices on the SHE-BOX portal (https://shebox.wcd.gov.in). This initiative is aligned with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.
As per the notice, every employer is legally bound to constitute an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) at each office or administrative unit where 10 or more personnel are employed. The formation order of the ICC — including names, mobile numbers, and designations of the chairperson and members — must be clearly displayed at the workplace.
Key Highlights:
- Mandatory SHE-BOX registration for all private and public sector organizations.
- ICC formation is compulsory in workplaces with 10 or more employees.
- Registration and ICC details must be submitted within 15 days of the notice.
- Non-compliance will invite penalties under the POSH Act, 2013.
- Employers must conduct awareness workshops and submit annual reports to local authorities.
The Government emphasizes that these measures are not optional but part of a legal framework designed to protect women from sexual harassment in the workplace.
