Rajasthan Unveils Integrated Clean Energy Policy, 2024

The Government of Rajasthan has notified the Rajasthan Integrated Clean Energy Policy, 2024, with an ambitious vision to transform the state into a national hub for renewable energy and clean technologies. The policy replaces the 2023 version and will be in effect till March 29, 2029, unless superseded earlier.

🔑 Policy Highlights

  • Total Target: 1,25,000 MW (125 GW) by 2029-30
    • 🌞 Solar Power: 90,000 MW
    • 🌬️ Wind & Hybrid Projects: 25,000 MW
    • 💧 Hydro, Pump Storage, BESS: 10,000 MW
  • Scope: Promotion of:
    • Rooftop & off-grid solar
    • Wind-solar hybrid projects
    • Energy storage systems (battery, pumped hydro)
    • Biomass & waste-to-energy
    • Green hydrogen ecosystem (manufacturing + mobility)
    • RE-powered EV charging infrastructure

🧭 Policy Vision & Objectives

  • Support India’s national RE target of 500 GW
  • Build a stakeholder-driven, inclusive energy system
  • Create an optimal energy mix of conventional and renewable sources
  • Promote grid flexibility through smart solutions like demand-side management, ToD tariffs, and ancillary services
  • Utilize wastelands for clean energy projects
  • Repowering of existing wind plants
  • Boost R&D and skill development in the RE sector
  • Attract manufacturing investments in RE components, storage, and hydrogen tech
