To streamline environmental enforcement and promote cleaner industrial practices, the Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board (RSPCB) has issued updated classifications of industries into Red, Orange, Green, and White categories. This harmonization aligns with the Central Pollution Control Board’s (CPCB) Pollution Index (PI) criteria.
The Pollution Index considers various factors such as:

- Hazardous waste generation
- Fuel consumption
- Volume of wastewater discharged
