The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has announced an extension of crucial deadlines for the approval and appeal process concerning pharmacy institutions for the upcoming academic year 2025-2026. This extension comes directly from an order issued by the Supreme Court of India.
The notification dated June 11, 2025, was circulated by Registrar-cum-Secretary of the PCI, to all State Governments, Examining Authorities, Admission Making Authorities, and currently approved Pharmacy Institutions.
The Supreme Court’s order, stemming from Miscellaneous Application No.711/2025 in Civil Appeal No. 9048/2012 (dated May 9, 2025), has provided relief to stakeholders. As per the directive, the final date for the completion of the entire approval process for pharmacy institutions has been extended to August 31, 2025. Furthermore, the window for the appeal and compliance process related to these approvals will now remain open until September 30, 2025.
This extension is anticipated to provide adequate time for all concerned parties to meticulously complete the necessary administrative and regulatory procedures, ensuring that the institutions meet all required standards and that the admission process for students proceeds smoothly for the 2025-2026 academic session.
