The Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has issued the Boilers (Adjudication and Appeal) Rules, 2025, which formalize the process for penalizing and resolving disputes related to the Boilers Act, 2025. These rules come into force on October 17, 2025, the date of their publication in the Official Gazette, and supersede the Boiler (Inquiry, Adjudication and Appeal) Rules, 2024.

The Act which was published on April 4, 2025, will come into force on future dates to be notified by the Central Government. The new Act repeals the Boilers Act, 1923 and introduces regulations for manufacturing, inspection, repair, and operation of boilers.

The amendment seeks to replace the existing entry “Telangana TS” with “Telangana TG” in the regulation on engravings of registry plates of boilers. This change aligns the regulations with the official state code for Telangana. Objections or suggestions if any shall be sent to the authority by November 15, 2024.
