MNRE Issues Final Application Form for ALMM Enlistment of Solar PV Cells

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has released the Final Application Form for solar photovoltaic (PV) cell manufacturers seeking enlistment in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List-II. Along with the Final Application Form, the MNRE has also issued clarifications addressing queries raised by stakeholders regarding the application process.

MNRE Launches Green Hydrogen Certification Scheme

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has launched the Green Hydrogen Certification Scheme of India (GHCI) in a push towards building a robust green hydrogen ecosystem in India. The announcement was made by Hon’ble Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy, during the inaugural address of a one-day National Workshop on “Opportunities for Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the Green Hydrogen Supply Chain” held in New Delhi on April 29, 2025.

MNRE Seeks Stakeholder Input on Draft Amendments to Wind Turbine Model Inclusion Procedure

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has released draft amendments to the “Procedure for inclusion/ updating Wind Turbine Model in the Revised List of Models and Manufacturers of Wind Turbines (RLMM)” for stakeholder consultation. All stakeholders are requested to provide their comments on the draft amendments within three (03) weeks from the date of this circular.

Power Ministry Seeks Stakeholder Input on Draft Amendments to Long-Term Thermal Power Procurement Bidding Documents

The Ministry of Power (MoP) has released draft amendments to the Model Bidding Documents (MBDs) used for the long-term procurement of electricity by Distribution Licensees from thermal power generating stations established on a Design, Build, Finance, Own, and Operate (DBFOO) basis. The Ministry is inviting comments on these proposed changes from all stakeholders within the next 30 days, with a deadline of May 14, 2025.

CERC Seeks Public Input on IEX Green Real Time Market Proposal

IEX, through Petition No. 277/MP/2024, has requested the CERC’s approval to launch a dedicated G-RTM within its existing Real Time Market (RTM) segment. This proposed market would facilitate exclusive trading in Renewable Energy (RE). The CERC is seeking feedback from all stakeholders on IEX’s proposal. The deadline for submitting feedback by any concerned stakeholders is April 23, 2025.

Updated Wind & Wind-Solar Hybrid Project Guidelines Boost Grid Integration

These guidelines aim to streamline the procurement process and enhance the integration of wind energy and wind-solar hybrid energy into the national grid. Procurers can now specify substations in the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) or Intra-State Transmission System (InSTS) where developers must connect their projects.
