UP Issues New VDA for Hotel Industry Workers

In a significant update to labor welfare norms, the Government of Uttar Pradesh has released a new notification revising the Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) for workers employed in the hotel and restaurant industry, effective April 1, 2025.

The revised VDA is applicable from April 1, 2025 to September 30, 2025, and is calculated based on the average Consumer Price Index (CPI) from July to December 2024, which stands at 413.42 (above the base index of 239, 2001=100).
