Tamil Nadu Shops and Establishments (Amendment) Act, 2023
This Amendment Act seeks to further amend the Tamil Nadu Shops and Establishments Act, 1947. The Amendment Act has included several employee-centric facilities within its ambit. These include drinking water, latrines and urinals, rest room and lunch room and first-aid.
Delhi amends its exemption of intra-state supplies of goods under the Delhi GST Act, 2017
The amendment has inserted an exemption to Rab, other than pre-packaged and labelled. Hence by virtue of the present amendment, this prescribed Rab is exempted from whole of the state tax leviable on intra-state supply of goods.
BIS notifies 31 Indian Standards related to Ayush Herbs and Products
BIS has notified 31 Indian standards related to Ayush, which includes 30 herbs and 1 product. It has also created an additional department for enabling dedicated focus on Ayush at BIS.
MNRE further updates its list of Approved Manufacturers and Models of Solar Photovoltaic Modules
The Ministry has recently issued major reforms in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) of Solar Photovoltaic Modules. These reforms include, the enlistment of only those models of Solar PV Module Manufacturers under ALMM that comply with BIS Standards and maintain minimum prescribed module efficiency.
Bihar Prohibition and Excise Amendment Rules, 2023
By virtue of the present amendment the fixation of the amount of penalty levied on a seized conveyance would be at the discretion of the Collector or the Officer authorized by him. However the penalty shall not be less than 10% of the insured value of the vehicle, but shall not be more than Rs. five lakh.
