Central Government issues Quality Control Order for 10 Chemicals

The Central Government has introduced amendments to several Quality Control Orders for various chemicals such as Morpholine, Acetic Acid, Methanol, Aniline, Pyridine, Gamma Picoline, Beta Picoline, Potassium Carbonate, Acetone and Sodium Tripolyphosphate.

E-Waste (Management) Second Amendment Rules, 2023

Incorporating crucial amendments to the existing E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022, the newly introduced provisions highlight the importance of adopting approved destruction technologies for managing refrigerants. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) will issue guidelines to oversee the proper implementation of these technologies.

Regulatory Framework for the development of responsible Artificial Intelligence

The broad tenets of the suggested regulatory framework should comprise of an independent statutory authority, a Multi Stakeholder Body (MSB) that will act as an advisory body to the proposed statutory authority, and categorizations of the AI use cases based on their risk and regulating them according to broad principles of Responsible AI.

General Insurance (Employees’) Pension (Amendment) Scheme, 2023

If any pensioner takes up any commercial employment at any time before the expiry of one year from the date of his retirement without the prior permission of competent authority, or commits a breach of any condition subject to which permission to take up any commercial employment has been granted to him under this paragraph, it shall be competent for competent authority to declare by order in writing and for reasons to be recorded therein that he shall not be entitled to the whole or such part of the pension.
