Conclave on Public Procurement Policy
The National SC-ST Hub was launched by the Prime Minister in the year 2016 with an objective of creating a supportive ecosystem for SC/ST entrepreneurs. For providing handholding support, and augmenting their capacities to effectively participate in public procurement processes many new interventions have been introduced since its inception. The conclave provided an interactive platform to deliberate upon new interventions and ideas on successful implementation of Public Procurement Policy mandate.
Press & Registration of Periodicals Act (PRP Act), 2023
The Government of India has notified the historic Press & Registration of Periodicals Act (PRP Act), 2023 and its Rules in its Gazette and consequently the Act has come into force from 1st March, 2024. From now on, the registration of periodicals shall be governed by the provisions of the Press and Registration of Periodicals Act (PRP Act), 2023.
Contract for the purchase or sale of a right to buy or sell, or a right to buy and sell in future underlying goods shall be derivative contract
The Central Government has declared that a contract for the purchase or sale of a right to buy or sell, or a right to buy and sell in future underlying goods as a derivative contract.
Income-tax (Third Amendment) Rules, 2024
The amendment has revised Form ITR-7 used by persons including companies to furnish income tax returns.
Revised Foreign Trade Policy with regard to intermediaries of merchant trading
Merchanting trade involving shipment of goods from one foreign country to another foreign country without touching Indian ports, or shipment of goods within one specific foreign country, involving an Indian intermediary is allowed subject to compliance with RBI guidelines, except for goods in the CITES, or under SCOMET.
