Jharkhand Government fixes the minimum wage rates for workmen

The government of Jharkhand on June 28th 2024, notified the rate of minimum wage to be fixed for the different categories of workmen of any category or class under the Jharkhand Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Rules, 1972.

In absence of any agreed-upon rate of wage for a specific employment of any category or class of workmen, the contractor is obligated to pay the fixed wages on monthly basis.

Goa Government Proposes Amendments To Child Labor Regulations

The proposed amendments to the child and adolescent labour regulations include renaming the rules to include “Adolescent” and defining key terms. The new rules aim to raise public awareness, allow children to help their families and work as artists under strict guidelines, and omit restrictions on certain occupations. They also establish procedures for payments from the Child and Adolescent Labour Rehabilitation Fund and limit adolescents to working no more than 5 hours a day in applicable establishments.
