Draft Central Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Rules, 2021
The amendment provides that in case the vehicle is registered on submission of certificate of vehicle scrapping, the fee for issue of certificate of registration shall not be levied. The amendment also provides the new fee structure for registration.
The central government is empowered to direct manufacturers to recall motor vehicles with defects
Where there is a defect in the motor vehicle component, the Central Government may, by order, direct a manufacturer to recall all motor vehicles which contain such component, regardless of the type or variants of such motor vehicle
The Paradip Port Trust (Licensing of Stevedoring and Shore Handling) Regulations, 2021.

Every manufacturer, importer or retrofitter, as the case may be, of a motor vehicle shall have in place a procedure for regulating the recall of motor vehicle. The said procedure may be reflected within the organizations quality manual.

The certificate of registration shall not be renewed for the government vehicles after the lapse of fifteen years, as provided in Sub section (7) of Section 41, from the date of such certificate.

The Amendment is brought under rule 93 which specifies the overall dimension of motor vehicle in which the motor vehicle of category N2 or N3 is engaged to carry indivisible loads, with open or closed body, the overall height of the motor vehicle shall not exceed 4.75 meters.

The CNG/Bio-CNG/HCNG vehicles shall meet all the safety requirements as per AIS 24 and AIS 28 (Revision 1), as applicable.
Documents required for registering under motor vehicle act shall be done electronically.
The new sub-rule specifies the documents required for registration which has to be done electronically and after the sale of Vehicles all the documents related to registration shall have to be uploaded by the dealer on Vahan 4.0 software after signing it through ‘digital sign certificate (DSC).
The Central Motor Vehicles (Third Amendment) Rules, 2021.
All vehicles manufactured on and after the 1st of April, 2021, in the case of new models, and 31st day of August, 2021, in the case of existing models, to be fitted with airbag.
