The recently appointed Consul General of Australia in Mumbai paid a visit to the State Governor at Raj Bhavan Mumbai on Thursday (21 Mar). Characterizing India as a reliable ally of Australia, Murphy mentioned that besides boosting business and trade collaboration, he aims to foster cooperation between Maharashtra and Australia in higher education, skill development, audio-visual co-production, art, and culture. Indicating the interest of Brisbane and Perth in initiating direct flights to and from Mumbai, he conveyed Australia’s enthusiasm for fostering reciprocal tourism in the years ahead. Extending a warm welcome to the Consul General to Maharashtra, the Governor expressed optimism that Australia would further bolster collaboration with state universities.
