MOHFW Seeks Public Feedback on Proposed Changes to Central Health Services Rules

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has invited comments and suggestions from stakeholders on a draft proposal to amend the Central Health Services (CHS) Rules, 2014 and the Central Health Services (Amendment) Rules, 2019.

This initiative follows a Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) directive encouraging ministries to upload draft recruitment rule amendments online and solicit public feedback.

The specific focus of the amendment proposal is on Schedule VIII of the Central Health Services (Amendment) Rules, 2019. The amendment proposes to delete “Head of Department of Respective Specialty” from Serial Number ix in Schedule VIII of the Central Health Services (Amendment) Rules, 2019.

Stakeholders have until May 8, 2024 to submit their comments and suggestions. The MoHFW will consider all feedback received within the stipulated timeframe before finalizing the amendments in consultation with DoPT and the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

This public consultation process allows stakeholders, potentially including healthcare professionals and associations, to provide input on proposed changes to health service recruitment rules. By considering public feedback, the MoHFW can make informed decisions about finalizing the amendments to the CHS Rules.
