The Telangana government has announced a significant move to facilitate democratic participation. In line with the Election Commission of India’s directives and relevant state laws, a paid holiday has been declared for all employees and workers on May 13, 2024. This holiday is in observance of the General Elections to Lok Sabha, 2024, and the Bye-Election to 71-Secunderabad Cantt. (SC) Assembly Constituency. This initiative aims to ensure that every eligible voter can exercise their fundamental right to vote without hindrance. Such measures underscore the government’s commitment to fostering a robust democratic process by removing any barriers to electoral participation. The directive extends to all factories, shops, establishments, and industrial undertakings across Telangana. This move stands as a testament to the state’s dedication to upholding the principles of democracy and ensuring the voice of the people is heard loud and clear at the ballot box.
