UGC have requested educational institutions to step up anti-ragging mechanism by way of adequate publicity through various mediums; constitution of Anti-Ragging committee and Anti-Ragging squad, setting up of Anti-Ragging Cell, installing CCTV cameras at vital points, Anti-Ragging workshops and seminar, updating all websites with nodal officers’ complete details, alarm bells etc. Regular interaction and counseling with the students, identification of trouble triggers and mention of Anti-Ragging warning in the institution’s E-prospectus and E-information booklets/brochures must be ensured.

Rationalizing Parking Charges For Private Vehicles In NCR

The CAQM has urged Urban Local Bodies to disincentivize private vehicles by way of rationalizing the parking charges. This endeavor shall be completed and implemented expeditiously, but not later than 30.08.2024 and a compliance report must be submitted to the Commission.

FSSAI Seeks Public Feedback on New Method for Testing Edible Oils and Fats

FSSAI’s Scientific Panel on Methods of Sampling & Analysis has approved a method for determining 2 and 3-MCPD fatty acid esters and Glycidol fatty acid esters in edible oils and fats by acid transesterification. Before finalizing the method, the FSSAI wants feedback from stakeholders, including industry experts, consumer groups, and scientists to be submitted by May 25, 2024.

Medical Colleges Risk Missing Out on New Courses Due to Late Filings

The Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has categorically emphasized that all compliance reports and SAFs for both UG and PG courses must be submitted by April 30, 2024. Applications received after this date will not be processed for the 2024-25 academic year, and colleges risk disapproval without further communication.
