DPIIT Hosts High-Level Investors Roundtable in Bengaluru

In a strategic move to accelerate India’s industrial transformation, a high-level Investors Roundtable Conference was recently held in Bengaluru under the chairmanship of Shri Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). This significant event formed a part of the Government of India’s broader vision for Viksit Bharat @2047, aiming to position India as a global industrial powerhouse by its 100th year of independence.

The roundtable was organized to spotlight the immense potential of the southern industrial nodes developed under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP). These nodes, which include key sites across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, are being developed as future-ready smart industrial cities, offering state-of-the-art infrastructure, seamless logistics, and integrated urban planning. The initiative seeks to create robust manufacturing ecosystems and attract both domestic and foreign investment in high-tech sectors.

A unique aspect of the roundtable was its focus on Centre-State collaboration, seen as pivotal to achieving long-term industrial growth. During the conference, Secretary Bhatia engaged with senior officials from southern States and Union Territories to align local industrial policies with national goals. These discussions centered around fast-tracking the development of industrial nodes, enhancing infrastructure, and streamlining investment facilitation to ensure swift implementation of large-scale industrial projects.

The event featured participation from a wide range of stakeholders including apex industry bodies like CII, FICCI, ASSOCHAM, and regional associations such as Peenya Industrial Association and KASSIA. Representatives from Invest India, industry leaders, MSMEs, and startups actively engaged in dialogues that explored state-specific opportunities and challenges. The emphasis was on leveraging NICDC’s smart cities as platforms for advanced manufacturing, innovation, and sustainable growth.

Senior DPIIT officials also presented updates on transformative national initiatives such as Start-Up India, Business Reforms Action Plan (BRAP), National Single Window System (NSWS), and Logistics Ease Across Different States (LEADS). These programs are designed to improve the ease of doing business, streamline approvals, and enhance investor confidence through policy transparency and digital governance.

On the sidelines of the roundtable, the DPIIT delegation visited the K-tech MeitY Nasscom Centre of Excellence for IoT & AI, interacting with startup founders and incubation leaders to better understand the emerging innovation landscape. These discussions provided valuable insights into the support needed for frontier technologies, AI-driven manufacturing, and digital entrepreneurship.

Further site visits are scheduled to critical industrial nodes such as the Tumakuru Industrial Area and Devanahalli Aerospace SEZ, including a tour of Dynamatic Technologies, a leading aerospace components manufacturer. These visits aim to assess on-ground progress and gain firsthand insights into India’s expanding capabilities in high-value, precision manufacturing.

The Bengaluru roundtable reaffirmed the government’s commitment to building a globally competitive industrial base and fostering a vibrant, innovation-led economy. Through strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and infrastructure investments, DPIIT continues to push the boundaries of India’s industrial ambition—moving steadily toward the Viksit Bharat @2047 vision.
