Ministry of Ayush to Celebrate 10th National Ayurveda Day with New Initiatives and Global Collaborations

The Ministry of Ayush, in partnership with the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), Goa, is set to host the 10th National Ayurveda Day tomorrow. The celebrations, to be inaugurated by Union Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Ayush, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, and attended by Union Minister of State, Ministry of Power and Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, will highlight Ayurveda’s role in health and ecological sustainability under the theme “Ayurveda for People, Ayurveda for Planet.”

Awards, Infrastructure, and Collaborations

The day will feature the National Dhanwantari Ayurveda Awards 2025 to honor significant contributions to the field. Several new facilities at the AIIA Goa Hospital will be inaugurated, including an Integrative Oncology Unit, a Central Sterile Supply Department, and a Blood Storage Unit. The event will also mark the start of the ‘Ran-Bhaji Utsav,’ a festival showcasing local forest vegetables.

To strengthen the Ayush sector, several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) will be signed:

  • An international MoU for academic exchange in traditional medicine.
  • A tripartite MoU on integrative oncology.
  • A research collaboration between AIIA New Delhi and Multani Pharmaceuticals.
  • A partnership between AIIA Goa and the Goa Institute of Management.

New Campaigns and Digital Initiatives

The celebration will be a platform for launching several new initiatives aimed at integrating Ayurveda into modern healthcare and governance. These include:

  • The nationwide campaign “Desh ka Swasthya Parikshan,” which will use the CCRAS-Swasthya Assessment Scale for community health status assessments.
  • The launch of the “DRAVYA” portal (Digitized Retrieval Application for Versatile Yardstick of Ayush Substances) by the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS).
  • The release of new guidelines on Ayush-related interventions by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and for the management of PCOS.
  • The unveiling of a new website dedicated to achievers in Ayurveda.

Additionally, the event will see the release of new publications, including “25 Years Journey of NMPB,” “Ayurveda for Sports Medicine,” and a compendium of innovations from the Navapravartan Idea Hackathon 1.0.

Through these diverse activities—from awards and infrastructure to MoUs and digital portals—the Ministry of Ayush is working to solidify the scientific relevance of Ayurveda and integrate it into India’s national healthcare and sustainability efforts. The public is encouraged to participate in the celebration to learn about Ayurveda’s benefits for both people and the planet.
